Who you are?

How do I mix and take the booster?

PillCam Colon2 Capsule
Day of capsule
  • Take the capsule together with a sip of water. Followed by 2x Domperidone tablets (20g)

 

 

Alarm 0
Signal ‘0’
  • Signal ‘0’ will only be displayed if the capsule has not yet left the stomach 1 hour after the capsule was swallowed.

 

 

Alarm 1
Signal ‘1’
  • Signal ‘1’ indicates the capsule has reached the small bowel.
  • Take 30ml Sodium phosphate (Fleet) dissolved in half a glass of water (125ml).
  • Dilute 50ml Gastrografin in 1 litre of water and drink over the next hour (4 glasses).

 

Alarm 2
Signal ‘2’ OR 3 hours after Signal ‘1’
  • Take 25ml Sodium phosphate (Fleet) dissolved in half a glass of water (125ml).
  • Dilute 25ml Gastrografin in 1 litre of water and drink over the next hour (4 glasses).

 

 

Alarm 3
Signal ‘3’ OR 2 hours after Signal ‘2’
  • Insert a suppository (bisacodyl) if required.
  • You may drink freely from now.
  • One hour later, you may eat a light meal.

 

 

KEEP THE EQUIPMENT ON UNTIL:
THE CAPSULE IS EXCRETED (YOU MAY SEE IT BLINKING IN THE TOILET OR YOU MAY A SANDGLASS ON THE RECORDER)
OR
12 HOURS AFTER THE INGESTION OF THE CAPSULE

You start the procedure
  • Take the capsule together with a sip of water.

 

After you receive the equipment you will receive these further instructions. As mentioned before, the boosters are designed to help stimulate the movement of your bowel and to aid in the capsule excretion. This means we will be able to complete a full inspection of your colon before any equipment runs out of battery.

MIX PICOLAX SOLUTION (BOTH SACHETS IN 1 LITRE OF WATER)
stir until mixture is clear
Alarm 0
Signal ‘0’
  • Signal ‘0’ will only be displayed if the capsule has not yet left the stomach 1 hour after the capsule was swallowed:
    • Lay down on your right side for 5 min
    • Get up and move around
Alarm 1
Signal ‘1’ OR 2 HOURS AFTER CAPSULE INGESTION
  • Signals that the capsule has reached the small bowel
  • Take first fluid boost:
    • Pour 300ml of PICOLAX solution (1/3rd) into a glass
    • Drink the solution over 15 minutes followed by 500ml water within 1 hour
  • Using chewing gum to stimulate your bowel movement
Alarm 2
Signal ‘2’ OR 2 hours have passed since Signal '1'
  • Take second fluid boost:
    • Pour another 300ml of PICOLAX solution (1/3rd) into a glass
    • Drink the solution over 15 minutes followed by 500ml water within 1 hour
  • Continue using chewing gum
Alarm 3
Signal ‘3’ OR 2 hours have passed since Signal '2'
  • Take third fluid boost:
    • Pour the remaining 300ml of PICOLAX solution (1/3rd) into a glass
    • Drink the solution over 15 minutes followed by 500ml water within 1 hour
  • You can now have a cup of coffee and eat a little snack
  • Continue using chewing gum and drink clear liquids if you feel thirsty

Signal '4' OR 2 hours have passed since Signal '3' and the capsule is still not excreted
  • Insert suppository (Bisocodyl)
  • Now you can eat and drink whatever you want

OR
12 HOURS AFTER THE INGESTION OF THE CAPSULE
